The torque converter is extremely important to the operation of your automatic transmission, because it transfers power from the engine to the transmission. If the ECU has determined that the operating temperature inside of the torque converter is too high, a P2783 DTC will be saved.

How to Diagnose the Code?
In order to diagnose a P2783 OBDII trouble code, the wiring and connectors going to the shifting mechanism will need to be checked for signs of damage and corrosion. Manufacturer’s TSB’s will also need to be checked to see if there are any known solutions for these transmission problems.
