A P2709 DTC is used to indicate a problem with one of the shift solenoid that is labeled ‘F’. These small electromechanical devices are used to move pressurized hydraulic fluid throughout the valve body, for the purposes of actuating a gear change. If an electrical fault is detected, a P2709 diagnostic trouble code will be set.
