    i have a 04 Mercedes that has done 170000 miles diesel. The car has started to lurch forward when in drive and the foot is on the break. Have noticed that the engine noise increases. The car is fine in neutral and park only when in drive. also notice the lurching more when the car has warmed up. transmission fluid has been changed and filters changed but to no effect with the lurching of the car. Mercedes say that the gear box unit is faulty but no guarantees it will sort the problem. Does anyone have any ideas and also will a faulty gearbox unit result in the symptoms I am describing?
