Summary – Chrysler recalled 6,636 copies of the Dodge Challenger fitted with the W5A580 transmission and the Keyless Go pushbutton ignition option. It seems the stop/start button can be pressed and held, turning off the engine even when the shifter is not in the Park position.
Consequence – If the transmission is not in Park when the engine is turned off, the car could unexpectedly roll away, causing serious injury and property damage.
Remedy – Dodge dealers were instructed to reprogram the wireless ignition node module so that the engine can only be turned off when the transmission and gearshift are in the Park position. This we called was issued in September 2008. Concerned owners can contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Refer to recall H29. Shifting problems and solenoid/pressure switch DTCs – 42RLE transmission
Problem – Drivers may experience 42RLE transmission problems that include slipping and harsh shifts. The check engine light may also be illuminated with the following codes stored in the ECU: P0750, P0755, P0760, P0765, P0846, P0871, P0841.
Solution – The problem may be caused by corrosion in the 10 pin solenoid harness connector. This may also be caused by a wiring issue between the TCM/ECU and the transmission harness connector. A new design 42RLE 10-pin connector will need to be installed and/or wiring issues repaired.

2019 Dodge Challenger 10500 miles. Bought new less then a year old. Trans began to lunge forward when shifting to 2nd gear on the weekend. The check engine light came on Monday.
